Along the Creek
Pe lângă gârliță
2005 · oil on canvas, 50 × 60 cm
A wide dirt road fills the whole lower part of the canvas and runs into depth to the right, treated in horizontal strokes of ochre, pink and blue-grey with the marks of ruts. Along its edge stand clumps of trees with compact grey-green and bluish crowns, among which two houses with brick-red roofs appear. In the distance the village fades into a line of blue hills. The sky above is a warm pink-beige surface with broad strokes and a yellowish cloud. The brushwork is ample and rapid, almost sketched, and the road works as an open surface balancing the density of the vegetation.
