An almost monochrome composition organised strictly in horizontal bands, like a relief. The middle band holds a row of trees: white crowns cut into polygonal shapes, beneath which trunks and branches descend in zigzags scratched straight into the still-wet paint. The upper band is a brown-grey field crossed by a continuous incised drawing of loops and letter-like forms; below, a tilted white plane closes the composition like a threshold. Colour is reduced to grey, lime white and brown, and the interest falls on the surface texture — thick matte paint worked with the tip of the brush handle.
