A watercolour in which four conical, brown-violet haystacks line up in the foreground, their supporting poles projecting like rays. Behind them stands a house with white walls, an open porch and a brick-red pitched roof extended to the right by an outbuilding. The surrounding vegetation — tall grey-green trees — is treated in wet washes that melt into one another, and a plank fence appears at the right. The sky above is a washed pink-blue band. The paper is left white wherever light is needed: on the façade and on the path.
