The colours at the border between the human and the divine… The late discovery, and then the too-few remaining meetings with the artist and teacher Ion Șinca, won me over — as a journalist all too used to fleeting, circumstantial and often undeserved exaltations — through his noble blend of modesty, shyness, delicacy and the rare wafting of a bohemian perfume. I dare believe that perhaps it was this very privileged conjunction that gave his works light and grandeur, simplicity and depth, the human and the divine alike.

I confess I do not know what the Garden of Paradise looks like. But in my imaginings I could believe that it was only from its seraphic expanse that the artist Ion Șinca brought to earth, with such grace, his tree with white flowers, the red flowering bank or the autumnal phantasms, making them immortal on the canvas that bears his signature. Unique paintings through which, for an eternity and one more day, I am fully convinced that the artist Ion Șinca makes even the Garden of Paradise — whose paths and steps he now walks — more beautiful still!
