A Saxon house seen from the corner occupies the centre of the canvas: the white façade has a high triangular gable with a small dormer, and the roof is patched from sheets of metal in pink-violet, blue and reddish brown, set at different angles. On the ground floor a dark door opens beside a shed roofed in blue metal, beneath which logs and a ladder can be seen. A fence of thin planks runs in front, and the foreground is an emerald meadow painted in short strokes. A second house can be made out at the right. The sky is a pale blue-grey; the colour is lively, the green of the grass left at full intensity.
