A watercolour of a Saxon house seen from the street: the main body, with white walls and a blue-grey pitched roof, has a high gable, and to the right an outbuilding adjoins with a pink-violet roof and a narrow brick-coloured door. In front, an iron fence with vertical bars and a gate crosses the full width of the sheet. At the right a second, pale yellow house can be made out among green shrubs. The foreground is a raw green lawn, and the sky is a light turquoise blue. The colour is livelier and more transparent than in the oils; the contours are drawn firmly with the brush.
