A rocky bank crosses the canvas horizontally, its face broken into white and cream blocks cut by dark vertical fissures with ochre and reddish-brown accents; above it a blue-grey crest and a strip of green vegetation close the middle plane. Below the bank the water spreads as a calm blue-grey surface with horizontal reflections. In the lower left corner three narrow boats lie drawn up on the shore, drawn in firm brown and black strokes. The sky is a washed pink-grey band. The composition is strictly layered: sky, rock, water, boats.
